- The monument I chose was built 70-72 AD.
- Emperors Vespasian and Titus built the Flavian Amphitheater
Why is the monument famous and what is it purpose?
- It was built to replace the structure that burned down before.
- It was also built to house public use for animal hunts and gladiatorial games.
Interesting and Creepy
- The Coliseum in Rome has over 80 entrances and can house about 50,000 people.
- It is thought that over 500,000 people lost their lives and over million wild animals were killed in the Amphitheater when they hosted people vs.beast games
