In colaboration with the municipal company for the water management, we developed a project to renew both collection systems and rehabilitate the place by creating a gazebo

In 75 days and with a budget of 65 000€, this was the result...
One of these places is called Escadas do Codeçal
It's a passway that leads directly to Ribeira, the riverside area

Porto historic center is located on a hill
In several cases the streets are very steep or even have stairs
To collect the waste produced in this residences, we had a duct system, connecting a middle point in the stais to a street in the end of the hill, at the riverside
Although the waste collection system was still funcional, it was in need of an urgent renewal, as well as the household wastewater collection system
The waste was lead by the duct to a closed compartement, falling into plastic common bins

The access was made by two poits placed in a concrete wall
Behind the concrete wall, wich was degraded and vandalized, there was a beautifull view
Opportunity to use the waste collection system renewal to rehabilitate this place and explore it's potential
