OUR Connection

The Founder

Fernando followed his dream of becoming an educator and professional musician and moved to Los Angeles. Surprisingly, becoming an educator proved difficult and Fernando spent the first year as a substitute teacher and free-lance musician.

- We chose The Pullum center because of our passion for the arts and keeping the theater alive in Los Angeles.

-We have witnessed what it has done for children raised in under served communities.

-I am a student at the center and have had the opportunity to participate in a variety of their showcases.

-This is such an amazing service and deserves much publicity.

Fernando received an invitation to interview at Washington Prep H.S. and was subsequently hired in the fall of 1984,

DIVERSITY

When we asked Mr. Fernando Pullum where he would like to see the center in a few years, he said

Considering that The Fernando Pullum Center is a community based non-profit organization, a spectrum of audiences are necessary for the success of the center. The target audience includes the student, donors/companies, volunteers, and community. The students are the purpose for this program. Their involvement and participation keeps the arts alive and gives them the opportunity to engage in comprehensive performing arts.

-The Fernando Pullum Community Center will host this event in order to explore and appreciate performing arts through different cultural avenues.
