1700's History Timeline

Shays Rebellion:1786

English Bill of Rights:1689

Magna Carta:1215

It created a separation of powers. Limited the power of the king and queen. Enhanced the democratic election. And made freedom of speech more legal.

It means a great charter. What the magna carta said was that the king/queen had to follow the rules of the land and couldn't do whatever they wanted. it guaranteed the rights of the people against the kings wishes.

It was a group of American farmers that were against the state and local enforcement of tax collections and judgments for debt. Even though farmers joined in states from New Hampshire to South Carolina, the rebellion was all serious in Massachusetts, where bad harvests, bad economics, and high taxes threatened farmers with the loss of their farms. The rebellion took its name from its leader, Daniel Shays of Massachusetts, a former captain in the Continental army.

It was a list of grievences against the king of England. Mostly written by Thomas Jefferson. And stated the peoples unalienable rights.

It was the first signed agreement for self government to be made and enforced in America. September 16, 1620 the Mayflower, a British ship, with 102 passengers, who called themselves Pilgrims, aboard sailed from Plymouth, England.

It was there to address the problems of the weak central government that existed under the Articles of Confederation. And they pretty much made all of the branches of the government, came up with the 3 5ths thing, and so they wouldnt be seen they put up the drapes and stuff.
