  • Nat Turner is widely regarded as one of the most complex figures in American history and American literature. Nat Turner with the help of other gave some African Americans some sign on hope. He help them overcome fears and reassure then that its okay to stand up for what you believe in , even if it results in execution.October marks the anniversary both of his birth and his arrest as the leader of one of the United States most famous slave rebellions.
  • Born: October 2, 1800
  • Died: November 11, 1831 he was hanged and then skinned .
  • Occupation : Military
  • Interesting Fact: From his childhood claimed to see visions and hear voices
  • Interestin Fact : Unlike most African Americans at this time , Nat Turner was literate.

Harriet Tubman and Nat Turner were abolitionists who strongly believed that all slaves should be free. Though they didn’t succeed in some of their goals they inspired other abolitionist and slaves that they should fight for freedom.

  • Interesting Fact: When she was an adolescent;she encountered a runaway slave and the man's owner demanded that she stopped him, but she refused which resulted the runaway's owner to throw a two pound weight on her head.
  • Interest Fact: Harriet Tubman was the first woman to lead army expedition in the Civil War , she lead 700 slaves in South Carolina
