Cephalochordata

General developement

They have long body type. They are less than 5cm in length.

Lancelets have separate sexes and there are equal numbers of males and females in a population.

Fertilized eggs are formed when sperms and eggs are released into the water. The fertilized eggs will be form into larvae.

Larvae transform into young lancelets when fifteen pairs of gill slits have formed.

The water get into the Atrium and exit throw the Atriopore. The food particles move from the Pharyngeal slits to the guts and get digested and get out throw the Anus.

Water and the food particles get in throw mouth and get into the Pharyngeal slits. Pharyngeal slits is where the food particles and the food are separated.
