When he joined KK in 1894 was given the alias “pinkian”. He also used the pen name “dimas-ilaw”when he wrote in katipunan’s newspaper “kalayaan”

Emilio Jacinto was a member of Katipunan. He put together a guidebook that was used in military warfare by the Kartipuneros. That book was entitled 'Kartilya Ng Kartipunan'.
Emilio Jacinto was the author of “Kartilya ng Katipunan” which composed of the secret society’s commandments.
He also wrote “A mi Madre” (To My Mother), a touching ode and Liwanag at Dilim (Light and Darkness), a prose.
Jacinto also wrote several articles on human rights, equality, liberty, government, labor and love of country.
His other writings were:

* samahan ng bayan sa panganganlakal
His kartilla spread the revolutionary principles effectively motivated the katipunan members .
