What ideas united people within the different empires and gave people a sense of belonging?

Why We should go to Rome 750B.C. to A.D. 500

How did new discoveries in science and technology aid the expansion of the empire?

Creativity, Transformation and Interdependence

New technologies helped the empire. Roman engineers made roads, bridges, amphitheaters, public buildings, and aqueducts. These helped the empire expand because Rome was becoming more advanced. Wouldn't it be great to see these inventions in action? The new roads helped the Romans and others travel throughout Europe as well as bridges. the aqueducts gave manageable pluming to the empire, and the amphitheater helped with entertainment.

Identity, Values, and Diffusion

How did life look like back around 600B.C. we could find out if we take the time machine there. Who were the Romans? How else could we find out? The history book do not give us anything about be a roman that is 100% accurate. What were the Romans values that we do not know about and what values can we guarantee? We know that they worshiped gods but how? What was it like when Christianity took over? What did Paul the apostle look like when he traveled to Rome to preach and then to be persecuted? How much of the other cultures were in Rome? We know about the greek diffusion. How did it all feel? The ideas united people within the different empires and gave people a sense of belonging because there was so much diffusion going on that people felt that nothing has changed when the empire had taken over thier city, like the fact that most european places worshipd almost the same gods

What strategies did rulers devise to govern conquered

territories and to maintain their empire from one generation to the next

Conflict and Power

Rome in about 753B.C. was created. Trade gave the the civilization wealth and Rome would get more powerful. What did they trade, we could find out if we go there. Kings and priests would listen to gods for their rule. we could tell if the Etruscan rule was of great metal work. Around 509B.C. A republic was formed . City leaders would watch over the city and report back to the consuls, that is hoe they kept power and order. We would want to see this in action as well as the form of the republic. new officials and consuls would be elected or reelected every year to keep the republic going.

Introduction

Questions

Conclusion

As you can see in order to answer all of the unknown questions we have to take the time machine to different periods of time the begging of the empire about 1000 B.C., the beginning of the republic around 509B.C., during construction-unknown for different structures, the peak of the empire-under Augustus rule, and the fall of the empire.

The Romans did write their history, but are we really sure that it is completely true?

Our American history books hardly ever mention wars we lost and are pretty much one sided. We do not really know what the demolished ancient artifacts and temples of Rome look like or what the standing ones looked like when they were new. We could find out what the wars were like and the process of gaining power was for the empire and the road from republic to empire was. we could see their religious practices and understand their values. we could watch as the cultural diffusion took place and compare the differences first hand.We could watch and the beautiful sculptures, paintings, and poems were created and the people reaction. Wouldn't it be great to observe the transformation of the Roman civilization? How did Rome really rely on other nations and how did they work together?
