  • Repetivie motion disorders most often come from literally repeating a motion over and over again.
  • Most common ones are carpal tunnel syndrome, bursitis, and tendonitis.
  • Twisting of the arm or wrist, incorrect posture or position are usually factors triggering these disorders.
  • Hours of texting, gaming, or typing is one of the most common causes of carpal tunnel.
  • Helps younger kids burn off energy that they have sitting in a classroom all day
  • Promotes physical activity as well as somewhat giving them some exercise during the day
  • Also gives students the opportunity to converse and get to know other students outside of the classroom; and be less disruptive.

Musculoskeletal Disorders

  • More than half of all Americans test positive for one or more allergens
  • Some allergies including food allergies are biological and cannot be avoided.
  • Most allergies, like hay fever, are caused from environmental triggers and can be avoided
  • Over 200 Americans die each year from food allergies and over 30,000 end up in the hospital due to food allergies.

Physical Education in Schools?

  • Headaches and migraines are very easy to be treated; most of the time they have triggers that are easy to diagnose.
  • Usually caffeine, smoking, alcohol, hunger, and excessive strain on the eyes cause a lot of chronic headaches.
  • Seizure disorders are generally caused by abnormal electrical activity in the brain along with loss of control of muscular activity.
  • 70% of people with epilepsy remain seizure-free for 5+ years.

Respiratory Problems

Digestion Disorders

  • Usually most digestive disorders are complex with subtle symptoms.
  • Inflammatory Bowel Disease covers a group of disorders where the intestines are inflamed.
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome is a functional bowel disorder where the normal muscular contractions don't work and the food isn't processed as it should be.
  • Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease; heartburn or acid reflux, affects millions with risk factors including things such as age, diet, alcohol use, obesity, and smoking
  • Chronic lower respiratory disease and Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease are disorders where lung function is impaired.
  • This can happen from just a single exposure to a toxic chemical or severe heat.
  • Can also come about from years of inhaling tar and chemicals in tobacco smoke, as well as home exposure to toxic environmental substances like asbestos, paint fumes, and dust.

Are e-cigarrettes actually better than regular tobacco?

Cons:

  • Kids could be using the extra time for study hall
  • College students could be taking an extra credit towards their degree instead
  • Some kids physically are not capable of keeping up to standards some teachers set, which influences their grade based on physical fitness

Pros:

  • Offers an alternative to the regular tobacco cigarettes
  • These have been proven to help people quit
  • They have a decrease in harmful particles and almost no organic carcinogens
  • People standing near someone using an e-cigarette will be exposed to nicotine, but not to other chemicals found in tobacco cigarette smoke; but still less nicotine than a normal cigarette
