Conclusion
All in all, culture conditional bring people diverse backgrounds and beliefs together. Democracy for example is a form of cultural conditioning becauses it brings people's ideas and values together in order to form a government. Advertisement and media creates illusions in the mind of people that they have follow a certain image rather than be themselves. Rather people will lose their confidence in what they believe and lose their own opinion in due to these source of media, advertising or what the in crowd is doing.
Cultural Conditioning plays a huge role in politics. Everybodys political stance comes from either their parents or from society. The weakness of this thinking is that your political stance is the correct one and there is nothing else that could be possibly right. The victims are the younger generation that are told what political party they are for and they have no say in this. People can avoid this thinking by eliminating political party's all together, which would be rash but neccessary.
The Media plays a major role in Cultural Conditioning seeing as though there are SO many forms of the media and it is pretty much everywhere we go. Today almost every teen has a social media network where they are culturally conditioned through ads and news articles and friends and families opinions and they don't even know it. Throughout our lives the media tells us what is good and what is bad and what we should believe. Everyone has their own opinion and no one is right or wrong when it comes to opinions but Cultural Conditioning has passed on other peoples opinions to the new generation.
The process by which society's attitudes and values are passed on to its members.
Growing up as a child, I was always taught that to be successful in life I needed to follow certain guidelines and never stray far from the path. This hurt my critical thinking ability as a young child because it didn't teach me that being so narrow minded would actually hurt my chance at success. There isn't just one way to do things, there are actually many ways to do anything as long as you can broaden the mind, in this case critical thinking.
When I was a child my grandmother smoked cigarettes and my mother would complain how disgusting it was, how she was slowly killing herself and what a waste of money it is. She told me I could never smoke because it was wrong. Through high school I saw people smoking, doing drugs and drinking. When people would offer some to me I would always decline because I was thought from a very young age it was not the right thing.
As far as I remember my dad's philosphy since childhood that I have kept close to me was "Appearance is important to maintain. So you can look more proffessional he says." Before I would even take a step out of the house, if caught by my dad with a bed hair, then he would make me do something about it. It is preferred to just comply with his request than hearing big loquacious lecture from him. In a way this is upmost important to society today because people judge others by appearances before they get to know the person. When you go to interview the first thing a the employer look is your outfit and your grooming.
"When I moved to the U.S. I thought the streets would be paved in gold.
