Rate of Extinction

.

Approximately 200 to 2,000 species go extinct every year due to humans

.

Habitat destruction is the greatest contributor to the extinction of many species but many other things contribute to animal extinction such as hunting ,pollution , and animal testing .

Climate Change and Habitat Destruction

.

Climate Change is natural but is amplified by human pollution

Oil Spills

.

Climate Change is a major factor in animal extinction

.

Oil Spills is the release of liquid petroleum.

.

Habitat destruction is the greatest contributor to the extinction of many species

.

The liquid petroleum in the ocean covers birds wings restricting them from flying and then filling up there lungs along with the fishes and the rest of the marine life around them.

Animal Testing

.

Animal testing is responsible for 100 million animal deaths every year.

.

Some people justify animal testing due to the fact that it gives us cures but 92% of cures successful on animals weren't in humans.

Deforestation

.

46-58 thousand square miles of forest are cut down every year.

Air Pollution

.

Forest are not only a main source of food for animals but its home to many animals endangered or not.

.

Sulfur Dioxide is a toxic chemical that is released into the air and polluting the air endangering all the animals that can fly

.

Long-term exposure to sulfur dioxide can lead to inflammation, ruptured blood vessels, and lung failure killing the birds

Water Pollution

.

Around 1,000,000 animals die each year due to water pollution

.

We're constantly dumping waste and thousand of pounds of trash harming both animals and their ecosystems

Hunting

.

In 2011, 13.7 million people, or 6 percent of the U.S. population 16 years old and older, went hunting.

Hunters spent $34.0 billion on trips, equipment, licenses, and other items in 2011, an average of $2,484 per hunter.

.

Meat Industries

.

Many non-endangered and endangered animals are killed by people from the meat industry to give their habitats to grazing cattle which are later used for meat.

.

More than 175 threatened or endangered species are jeopardized by livestock on federal lands , where livestock grazing is promoted , protected , and funded .
