*Most landed right in MN
I was unable to find any conclusive reason for migration. Most of the family were farmers, and came into Minnesota it seems right after it became a state. There is a history of the Swedish people immigrating to the US for land and also to get away from the Lutheran State Church. It does show that my ancestors were Methodists on government census documents, so that could be one reason.
SNOW - Play in it, slide down it, build with it, work to move it, etc
I wish that I still had a closer connection to land as my ancestors had. It is clear that they valued what the land could produce and wanted to work at it well. I do have some family that own an apple orchard still in MN.
