Which Third-World Countries are Dictatorships and which are Democracies?

Belarus

Belarus is a dictatorship in Eastern Europe run by the president, Alexander Lukashenko and the Prime Minister, Mikhail Myasnikovich. Along with the Soviet Union and the Ukrainian SSR, Belarus is one of the founding members of the United Nations.

Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan is a country in Central Asia which is dictated by the President, Islam Karimov and the Prime Minister, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Out of all the Post-Soviet States, the country has the highest number of political prisoners, as well as this, they also have a complete lack of freedom of speech and also widespread torture.

in East Asia which is led by Kim Jong-Un, son of Kim Jong-Il, former dictator who died in 2011.

China is a democratic country in East Asia run by the President Xi Jinping. It is also the most populous country in the with a population of over 1.35 billion people and it also has the second-largest economy after USA and also the second largest country by land area.

Iran is a dicatorship in Western Asia run by Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. It is the 18th most populated country in the world with 77 million citizens and growing. It is also home to one of the oldest civilizations.

Libya is located in North Africa in the Maghreb Region and is a democracy led by Nouri Abusahmain after the death of Muammar Gadaffi in 2011 in the Civil War and Militairy Intervention that was led by NATO.

Cuba is an island country in the Caribbean which is dictated by Raúl Castro, the President. It is the largest island in the Caribbean and has over 11 million citizens. It ranks very high in metrics of health and education.

Laos is a land-locked country in South-East Asia which is a democracy and is run by the President, Choumally Sayasone and Prime Minister, Thongsing Thammavong. It is a member of the World Trade Organization and Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement.

Maldives

The Maldives is an island country in the Indian Ocean which is run by a dictator who's name is Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom. In 1968, the country became a republic which was ruled by a president and an authoritarian government.

Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe is located in Southern Africa and is a Democracy which is run by the president, Robert Mugabe.

He has been Head Of Government since Zimbabwe's independence in 1980 and has been Head Of State since 1987.
