Palau, officially the Republic of Palau, is an island nation in the Pacific Ocean, 500 miles east of the Philippines and 2,000 miles south of Tokyo. In 1978, they wanted to be part of the United Nations trusteeship. Palau chose independence instead of becoming part of the Federated States of Micronesia. A pact of Free Association was approved in 1986, but not used until 1993.
People in Palau eat mostly Korean food, or Chinese food. Examples of food they eat are: cassava, taro, yam, potato, fish, pork, burgers, pizza, pasta, etc. Palau has a very small population. The people mainly enjoy takeout food, rather than eating at home. People would dine at home eat root vegtables, fish, pig, and chicken.
