Working at the White House

Jackson started working in the White House in 1820 as a boy.

By the mid- 1820’s he was one of the top chefs.

He stayed a chef for a few years before going back to Philadelphia.

Caramel:

1/2 cup of sugar

1-1/2 tbsp butter

1/3 cup heavy cream

1/3 cup milk

1 can sweetened condensed milk

1/4 cup instant coffee

When he was 12 years old, he started working in the White House as a servant.

He served James Monroe and John Quincy Adams

The fifth president of the united states he was the last Virginia president.

He was the president of the dynasty and the Republican Generation.

Death and Birth

Augustus Jackson continued to run his shop for many years.

While the actual cause of his death is unknown, it was rumored he was in a train crash on January 11, 1852. He was born April 16,1808. He may still be alive because people rumored his death. People say he died at the age of 43.

Candy Creator

In 1830, Jackson opened his own candy shop and confectionery in Philadelphia. He sold candies such as licorice, lemon drops and fudge.

Ice Cream Perfecter

Augustus Jackson Invented a faster way to make ice cream. He used a method that we used now, by mixing salt flavoring and ice cream. he invented many flavors that are popular now like strawberry, vanilla and mint. He served ice cream in his shop, scooping it into tin cans
