How: To do this the media will either use really skinny models or photo shop the photos so that the models look skinnier. They also use tons of makeup all over the models body the conture her body and to cover up any flaws.
Who: It is affecting teenage girls who look to the models and famous stars as romodels and try and achieve the look of a skinny, perfect model buy starving themselves can also develop other eating disorders and depression.
Where: The issue is happening all over the world but you will see most of the issue takes place in American advertisements and other forms of media.
When: Problems like this have been happening for decades but in slightly different ways. ie. Having tiny feet in the asian culture was seen as beautiful so women would bind their feet.
Why: All this happens because the media makes girls think that if you want to be beautiful you have to look a certain way. This is why the teenage girls go through all the trouble to strive for that perfect image of a model.
All body types are beautiful
So why only showcase the skinny ones?
