Researchers believe that global warming does
affect tornadoes. People prepare themselves by building storm shelters, or make a plan for the family when a storm hits. People help by becoming volunteers to help pick up the debris, or donating blood to blood drives. People have learned lessons from tornadoes for a long time. A lesson that was learned is the making of the tornado siren. It warns the near by people that a tornado is coming, and that it is time to evacuate.
The thing that is used to measure
a tornado is the EF scale.
The tornado happened in Banladesh on April 26, 1989.
Tornadoes happen when warm air begins to rise it meets colder air. The faster moving air begins to spin and roll over the slower wind. Then it becomes an invisible, horizontal wind spinning and rolling like a cylinder. With more warm air rising, the spinning air encounters more updraft. Then the spinning winds creates a vortex , and the wind has enough energy to fuel itself. Now the tornado is fully formed.
The F5 tornado killed about 1,300 people, injured 12,000 people, and the damage cost about 1.5 million U.S. dollars.
