Chloroplast= Soccer Ball
Nucleus=The Coach
The Chloroplast is like the Soccer Ball. The chloroplast makes photosynthesis for the plant which provides food. Without foods, the plant couldn't live. The soccer ball is what you need to play the game. They compare because if it wasn't for them, the system wouldn't work.
The nucleus is the coach. The nucleus is the "control center" of the cell, which is also like the coach of the soccer team. They compare because they both take over and are in charge of their system.
Cell Analogy of a Soccer Field
and the game it's played on
Cell Membrane= Goalie
The Cell Wall = The Field's Fence
Endoplasmic Reticulum
Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER) consists of a complicated system of membranous channels and saccules. In the ER the function is to modify and transport substances like protein. When players are passing the ball around in soccer, it relates to how the ER works, passing proteins to another thing for it to process with.
Rough and Smooth ER
Rough: The action of passing the ball is like the Rough ER. Power is packed into a kick, sending the ball to a different location. This is what the Rough ER does. It packages protein and sends it off somewhere else in a pinched off vesicle
Smooth: The players bag that they put all of their things in represents the smooth ER because both act as a storage unit.
Nucleolus= Center of the Field
Chromatin= Assistant coach
The cell membrane is the goalie. A cell membrane acts as the boundary between the outside and inside of a cell. They are the gate keepers, so they are like the goalie because it decides what goal they are going to save.
The cell wall is the field's fence. The cell wall is a protective layer that maintains the cell shape and protects the cell. Just like the field's fence. The fence protects the field.
Chromatin, located in the nucleus, is composed of 50% DNA and 50% protein. Chromatin is what produces chromosomes and reproduces cells just like a soccer coach produces players for the game (soccer practice) and have players on the sidelines just in case a player becomes injured
Cytoplasm= Grass
The Cytoplasm is like the grass. Because cytoplasm takes up most of the space in the cell. Mostly just water with many structures called organelles.
The Cytoplasm is like the grass in the Soccer field, filling up most of the space.
The nucleolus is the core of a cell nucleus that produces ribosomes (organelles made of protein and Ribonucleic Acid that are responsible for assembling the proteins of the cell). Like a center point being the core of a soccer field, the nucleolus marks the very core of a cell. This is mostly where that ball is placed at the beginning and every time a team scores
Golgi Body
The Golgi Body is an organelle that processes synthesizes and secretions from the Endoplasmic Reticulum, where they are then released into the cytoplasm. They are like the defensive players on a team, whom kick the ball away from the goal like the golgi bodies package and distribute the synthetics and secretions.
Cytoskeleton= The Referees
The Cytoskeleton is like the refs. A Cytoskeleton provides an important structural framework for the cell. They provide the shape of the cell. The Refs compare with the Cytoskeleton because the refs are the framework for the game. They provide structure, without them the game would be an unshaped mess.
Ribosomes= The Audience
Central Vacuole= Trash Can
The ribosomes are like the audience. Because the ribosomes produce important products for the cell. The audience compares to the ribosomes because they help make enthusiasm and compassion for the players in the game.
The central vacuole often the largest organelle in the cell. It is surrounded by a membrane and functions to hold materials and wastes. The central Vacuole is similar to a trashcan because it holds materials and wastes that the soccer player throw away.
Mitochondria= Gatorade or Water Bottle
Mitochondria is like the Gatorade. Mitochondria Uses oxygen to transform the food to a form where the cell can use it as energy. The drink relates to mitochondria because it helps the players get the energy they need to play the game.
Plasmodesmata= Substitution
microscopic channels which traverse the cell walls of plant cells and some algal cells, enabling transport and communication between them. This is similar when it comes to substituting players during the games. When they substitute the old player give information for the incoming player
