Oh yeah, you have to be empathetic -- you have to think about the PEOPLE that are involved in the process...
The high school students who would be using the lockers...
...to having developed a successful planning process... maybe? :)
So the additional resource section contained a video clip about the students at d.school who were thrown into tasks with 72 hours and a $20 bill -- the point being -- you just have to jump right in and begin working on the problem...
Since I'm a super visual thinker, when we received the challenge of illustrating our thought PROCESS for the locker revamp, I immediately went to Google...
via Google Images, of course :)
That image immediately sparked new thoughts in my brain, which visually translated into...
Which is the point of this Prezi to begin with...
...is currently this Prezi document...and my lovely home office :)
FOCUS ON WHAT YOU LEARNED IN THE VIDEO TUTORIALS!
As I said in my reflective statement, I would do some research into what exactly "redesign" meant... Are we painting the lockers? Are we getting new lockers to replace the old ones? WHY are we redesigning the lockers to begin with???
I need more information here!
Once I worked out on paper or in my head or however I envisioned the redesign in my head, I would want input from the students being affected (if possible). Obviously if I'm going to be revamping these lockers, I'm not doing it alone...
...once I know the full details of the reasons for the revamp, who is being affected by the revamp, etc., then I'd get to work on what the lockers would actually look like (if they're being painted) or I'd want to see the space they're going to be "moved to" (if the redesign entails a move) etc.
Once I've got some additional information; a template in my mind of what I think would work best; and I've consulted the students involved to see what THEY think and how THEY would want change to be implemented...
I'm going to assume that I've managed to find someone who is going to tell me about how this redesign came about in the first place... I need to know where the lockers are going... Are they for the whole high school? Just the boys locker room? See where I'm going with this? This assignment has me asking more questions than I'm able to provide a solution for!
