Examples of research Simulation Prompts
- In an essay, analyze how each source uses explanations, examples, and/or descriptions to help accomplish its purpose. Support your answer with evidence from the text.
- Write an essay analyzing each author's purpose in describing the studies of elephant behavior and compare the information about the behavior of elephants each author presents in the passages. Support your answer from evidence in the text.
1. Pick 1 or 2 other people to work with. Make sure these are people you work well with. You will be split up if adequate work isn't getting done.
2. Read the texts about electricity. There are three.
3. Complete the research simulation.
Remember, it should be at least 5 paragraphs long.
4. Grade your work using the rubric.
How You Will Be Scored...
What is A Research Simulation???
- Research simulation will ask you to read non fiction/ informational text and write an essay (5 paragraphs) analyzing the text.
- When you write you will need to write a five paragraph essay.
- Each of your body paragraphs need to include MULTIPLE pieces of textual evidence.
- You will be scored on the following for research simulations:
- understanding (Comprehension) about the text
- Quality/organization of your writing
- Knowledge of conventions (Capitals, punctuation, etc)
- Use of evidence in your response
