Fossil Fuels İn Chemical Stroes

Summary

Where they came from?

Fossil fuels are found underground. Coal formed from the remains of plants that died million years ago. Oil and gas formed from the remains of sea creatures. Those living organisms gained their energy orginally from sunlight. So when we burn fossil fuels, we are making use of the energy of sunlight which fell on the Earth a very long time ago.

*Fossil fuels are stores of chemical energy.

*Fossil fuels are burnt ro release their energy.

*Most of our electricity is generated in fossil fuel power stations

Most of the energy we use comes from fossil fuels.Fossil Fuels are stores of chemical stores. The energy is released when the fuel is burnt. For exampe in a car engine, petrol and air are mixed together. A spark ignites the mixture and it burns. The energy released makes the car move forward.

What Are Fossil Fuels

Fossil fuels are fuels formed by natural processes such as anaerobic decomposition(çürünmüş) of buried dead organisms. The age of the organisms and their resulting fossil fuels is typically millions of years, and sometimes exceeds 650 million years.
