FCCLA was founded in 1945, as Future Homemakers of America and became Family, Careers and Community Leaders of America. In the summer of 1999, FHA became FCCLA.

Dynamic Leadership –

Chapter projects focus on a variety of youth concerns, including pregnancy, parenting, family relations, substance abuse, peer pressure, environment, nutrition and fitness, teen violence and career exploration. Involvement in FCCLA offers members the opportunity to expand their leadership potential and develop skills for life – planning, goal setting, problem solving, decision-making, and interpersonal communication – necessary in the home and workplace.

The National Headquarters is located in Reston, Virginia

Japanese Exchange Program – awards scholarships for six weeks abroad.
