What Not to Do in the Lab
Dress Code Safety
- While in the lab make sure to do none of the following.
Make sure to always be wearing your safety goggles in the lab to prevent chemical or physical damage to your eyes.
When in the lab always make sure to wear this safety equipment.
- Wear Loose clothing
- leave hair down
- Wear sandals or dangling jewelry
To avoid having your hair or clothing catch on fire, make sure to tie back your hair if it is long and remove jewelry and loose articles of clothing.
- Apron
- Hot Mittens
- Safety Goggles
- Closed Toed Shoes
If you happen to not be wearing protective eye gear and have an emergency be sure to ash out your eyes at the flushing station and to tell your teacher immediately after the accident.
Side note
As soon as you are finished heating, make sure to extinguish the flames.
