Learning Objective: YWBAT create a dimensional sketch of a device (of your choosing).
Essential Question: What tools will allow us to accurately capture a real object's dimensions?
Unit 5: Drafting
Do Now: (3 min) Think back to the SD Card project. In it, your final product was a 3D model of an SD Card, but there were many products along the way.
1. List all the products of this project. (Hint: there were three).
2. Then list the PURPOSE of each product with regard to the overall goals of the project.
Create a Dimensional Sketch
Due Today:
1. Write down the name of the device for which you are building a stand or case.
2. Describe the problems that you have with using that device.
3. Then describe an ideal case or stand that would allow you to overcome those problems.
4. Use the dimensioning tools that we have (digital calipers, ruler, fillet gauge) to COMPLETELY capture the dimensions of the object (or objects) for which you are creating a case or a stand.
5. Create a rough dimensional sketch of that object, that includes ALL dimensions along side. Be sure to arrange your sketch in a 3 view layout.
