The scorch trials starts off after the gladers escape the maze. The group is taken by strangers who claimed that they were safe from that point forward. They are brought to a building with bedrooms and food as well as anything they might need. Then they find out that it was actually a prison until they were told that they were about to start the next trials. They found out WICKED was still in control of them. Another group is there which is a group of girls and just one boy. They had been put through the same thing as the gladers had. While they discover all this information a man who looks like a rat gives them instructions to escape the building and go through the scorch to find a safe haven. All of them have caught a disease called the flare at this point and have to get to the safe haven to get a cure. Along the way there they found people known as cranks who have gone crazy due to the flare and citizens. Once they finally arrive at the safe haven they are attacked by human mutant things until a berg ( huge flying aircraft) lands and takes all of the people who survived the trial. At the end of the book Thomas which is the main character is taken and put into a white room alone. The others are told that the flare is too rooted in his body.

I believe the book was great and anybody would enjoy it. The plot was well written and the characters were well developed.

I would recommend this book to anyone. It is an easy read and it has a great plot. Its also just as good as the first book so you would not get any disappointments in my opinion.
