Mandatory vs. Aspirational Ethics

Objectives

Mandatory: The minimal standard we must follow regarding an ethical code.

Aspirational: The highest standard of conduct to which counselors can aspire and requires us to meet more than the minimal ethical code.

All Center employees are expected to conduct themselves in a highly professional and ethical manner both on and off premises while conducting our business. Staff, to include contract employees and consultants, shall be committed to a belief in the dignity and worth of the individual human being. A staff member shall maintain integrity with respect to his/her duties as they come in contact with clients, family members, staff, other service providers, and the public. Those on our staff, licensed or in training for licensure, will also be familiar with and adhere to the professional ethics required of their discipline (including but not limited to psychiatry, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing, and substance abuse).
