Why does McDonalds have such a big appeal to people outside of the USA?

How does this topic give an example of globalization?

The McDonald's corporation has always had certain ideals in mind when becoming such a popular fast food chain - speed, lower prices, and volume. With these ideals, it was not hard to gain the popularity that they did. Having a fast, easy option was an appealing idea to those in a hurry, or even families that needed a quick dinner plan.

McDonald's is a prime example of Globalization, mainly because it involves all four forces of Globalization - Trade, Transport, Media, and Communication Technology.

Is this an example of Universalization, Hybridization, or both?

When and Where did McDonald's originate?

This is an example of Universalization, as this has spread worldwide but keeps the same basis of McDonald's itself. When is was spread to other countries, it didn't change very drastically. There is some food items added with the different locations, but the general ideals are the same - speed, lower prices, and volume.

Who were the original people involved?

The original McDonald's was in San Bernardino, California. When it was first opened in May of 1940 by the McDonald brothers - Maurice and Richard. It was originally a Bar-B-Que restaurant. Which had a 25 item menu including tamales, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, ham and baked beans.

Richard and Maurice McDonald were the original owners of McDonalds.

> Ray Kroc was the face who started the McDonald's Corporation when he purchased the company from the McDonald brothers for $2.7 million in 1961.
