In the peterite tense, Tener means "Got" or "Recieved".
It only means "to have" in the imperfect.
The imperfect tense is something you will learn later.
In the Preterite, Saber means

In the imperfect, it means "to know"
In the preterite, Poder means "

In the imperfect, Poder means "to be able or capable of doing something".

slightly different meaning than you might expect.
Conocer usually means "to know someone or to be familiar with something". But in the
