The Saponi tribe had about 3,800 indians.

How was it governed?

The Saponi tribe was governed by an eleven-member Council, which include a Chief and

Vice-Cheif.

(They also grow

many corn crops)

The Saponi tribe does not exist today. They

either split up to join other tribes, or they got killed off in battle. The answer is not definite.

The Saponians lived where modern Charlotte would be. They also inhabited part of the Virgina Piedmont.
