What if Hitler won WW2

The extent to which Canada would change, politically, socially and economically would be revolutionary and life-changing.

Nuclear Superiority

If Hitler took over Canada, he would send troops to mine all the uranium located near Great Bear Lake.

The US wouldn't be able to build their nuclear bombs because the uranium they used came from Canada.

This essentially means that Japan wouldn't have surrendered

and may have gained complete control of the Pacific region

Arms Race

Since Germany had access to uranium and the US did not they would take the State's place in the cold war with Russia

Germany would also use their new found nuclear power as a deterrent to stop the United States from invading Canada and their other territories

Knowing Hitler's hatred for the Allies Nuclear Fallout would be a very real possibility

Social Changes

Political Changes

Canada would as a direct result of being under Hitlers rule, no longer function as a democracy because, Hitler found democracies weak. He would have one Nazi party to rule Canada and would instate someone to run Canada for him as he would be in Germany.

Changes in Education

Hitler would not allow the multiculturalism

we have today. Hitler would eventually cleanse Canada of the minorities in what would essentially be another Holocaust. Canada would be one of the first few countries to be cleansed as they do not pose much of a threat offensively but have a lot of resources which would aid Germany.

Education would only be offered to those who were deemed the master race. All others would be sent to do manual labor

He would proceed to eventually destroy politics all together and make one global party in which he would rule the world.

More Political Change

Ironically the very thing the French Canadians despised, conscription, is the very thing they would get served to them. Hitler would have no care for the French peoples feelings on the matter and they would be forced to fight for him or die.

If you were not part of the master race and were caught learning you would be sent to camps because it is easier for the Nazi's to subjugate the uneducated

Holocaust

If Hitler had won WW2, we feel that the Holocaust would continue in Germany and spread to North America when Hitler decides to take it over. This would remove all minorities and other "inferior" races and people. The impact this would have today is a decrease in Canada's population by approximately 20%.

Changes in Autonomy

If Hitler was to take control of Canada, he would change the laws so autonomy wouldn't exist. This means that any battle Germany went into, Canada would have to go in as well. Also we believe that Hitler would put his first in command, Heinrich Himmler to control all of Canada. Himmler would need to report to Hitler every week to report on his dealings or uprisings.

How would he rule the world?

Eventually, ruling the whole world would become tiring for Hitler and he would be forced to employ Regional Governors to have them run sovereign states for him while directly under his rule as he would be to busy to run the world himself.

These Regional Governors would have to report every week to Hitler himself on their doings and any issues that rise.

What Would Happen to Remaining Jews?

Hitler would demand all countries that he has taken over to round up all Jewish people. If they failed to comply he would march in with his army of millions and your country would join the Jews in death.

Border between Canada and

the United States

The border between Canada and the United States would be heavily guarded and patrolled by both sides, much like the border of North Korea and the South it would be an active war zone with both sides trying to keep each other at bay.

Hitlers invasion of the U.S

Eventually it would have been time for Hitler to take over the USA. Since he controlled Canada he had access to uranium to create nuclear bombs. He would proceed to launch one nuke into Washington D.C crippling the States government forcing them to surrender allowing German troops to invade. Canada as a result would be praised by Hitler for their resiliency and their complete military turn around from before the war.

Economics

Hitler would focus on industrializing Canada and bringing the country out of the depression. He would do this by putting an end to Canada's reliance on main exports. They would no longer be focused on newspaper print and wheat. When it comes down to it he would be forced to not completely annihilate the Canadians because he needs them to keep Canada a profitable state under Germany

Industrialization

Hitler would start the rehabilitation of Canada's economy by focusing on doing real work such as creating infrastructure and pulling the focus away from exports and more towards factory work. This will in turn create many long term jobs which will strengthen Canada's economy as a whole
