our air. If it is completely polluted, then the air will be useless. Think about future generations. Will humans be able to survive in the long run? Who knows. But, what we do know is that we can make a change for the better. Or worse. That just depends on how much you care.

releasing toxins and gases that contain

hazardous particles into the air. It affects our well-being. Who should we accuse for doing this? Humans. We use fossil fuels that are composed of chemicals that can cause health problems when we inhale them. We have to reduce the production of pollutants in our air before it's too late.

ow are we causing air pollution? It

pollution was on October, 1948. This took place in Donora, Pennslyvania. According to an article titled "Air Pollutants," it states , "Over five days, nearly half of the towns 14,000 residents experienced severe respiratory or cardiovascular problems." It also states," ...Donora's streets were hidden under a thick blanket of smog." So, this incident happened only about 68 years ago, and about 7,000 people died in Pennslyvania. You will soon see that the amount of deaths has increased over time.

happens indoors and outdoors. For instance, according to an article titled "Air Pollutants" it states," People can pollute their homes and workplaces with fumes from cooking devices and cigarette smoke. House paint can contain polluting chemicals." Fuels like natural gas and coal get released into the air outside as well. We do many things every day that release toxins. But, we don't normally think about this as much as we should. If everybody continues to pollute the air, it will get worse.

the air can cause a massive issue. There is a layer of carbon dioxide that surrounds the Earth and it traps heat inside. This is called the Greenhouse Effect. When there is too much heat in that layer, it makes ice caps and glaciers melt. Then, the water level rises and it can flood coastal areas and islands. This is what causes global warming as well, which will become a bigger issue sooner or later.

pollutants. According to an article titled "Air Pollution,'' it states," According to World Health Organization statistics released in March 2014, about 7 million people died due to exposue to air pollution." 4.3 million of those deaths were caused by indoor pollutants, and 3.7 million were from outdoors. Thats too many people dying in just one year from air pollutants. We have to watch what we are doing, because it can risk someone else's life.

term and long term health problems, there is one thing that is significant to us. Carbon dioxide in the troposphere, which is the layer of the Earth we live in. We need the carbon dioxide in that layer so it can keep the Earth warm. If it wasn't there, we couldn't survive. It would be too cold. But, what about of all the other pollutants? They are not beneficial for us at all. Thats why we need to reduce the amount of them.
