Julie London

Julie London was born in Santa Rosa, California on September 26, 1926. Julie was an American jazz artist and pop singer. She became famous in 1944 and ended her career in1979.She died 21 years after retiring her career, the day she died was October 18, 2000

Family

Julie London ( real name was Gayle Peck)was an only child. She lived in Santa Rosa with her parents Jack and Josephine Peck. At the age three Julie and her parents moved to San Bernardino, Calufornia, where Julie made her first deput singing on her local radio station.

Julie got married in 47 to actor Jack Webb. This couple came from their common love of jazz. Julie and Jack had 2 daughters Stacy and Lisa Webb. Sadly the couple divorced in 1954. Julie's daughter died in a car accident in 1996. In 1959 Julie got re-married to a jazz composer Bobby Troup. Until his death in1999. Julie and Bobby had1 daughter named Kelly Troup and twin sons, Jody and Reese. Sadly Jody died in 2010.

Why

we chose to do Julie London because she is dead, old, female artist, her name reminds me of London Tipton from the t.v. show suit life of Zack and Cody.

Career

Julie began singing under her birth name in her teen years before appearing in a film. She was discovered by talent agent sue carol. Julies early film career didn't include any singing roles. She recorded 32 albums in her career. her debut recordings were for the Bethlehem records label. She recorded 4 tracks that would later be included on the compilation album Bethlehem's Girlfriends in 1955.
