Lesson 10

Henry Ford revolutionizing the automobile and other industries:

Pictures:

How did Ford Revolutionized the production assembly?

What was scientific management and Consumer revolution?

Henry Ford Revolutionized the production assembly line getting the economy up which then made industries go up like the car industries. Even though he didn't create the assembly line, he did revolutionize it and made the making of a car go from 12 hours to 2 in a half hours!

Effects on competitors and other manufacturers:

Scientific Management:Make what factory workers are doing, much faster. The person evaluates a worker and decided how that person ca be faster.

This was used when they were assembling the line of cars and workers were being "slow" they had to move faster to get through more cars.

Consumer Revolution:Creating Goods many people could afford

This good because the more affordable the cost of the cars and products were, the more of them would get brought by people.

Ford was the first person in this industry to create a car and an assembly line so he but an effect on the other companies that were trying to create the same thing, since it was already created they either had to just copy him or try and come up with a better idea for the industry. Also the industries that helped make cars were booming because they were helping with the pieces to make a car.

How did Ford Change the industry society?

Henry Ford and his first car

the Quadricycle, which he

built in 1896steadily reduced the cost of the Model T. Instead of pocketing the profits; Ford lowered the price of his car. As a result, Ford Motors sold more cars and steadily increased its earnings - transforming the automobile from a luxury toy to a mainstay of American society.

How does Ford make life better for workers and why?

Effects on the growth of new industries:

Ford made efficiency go from $2.85 to $5. He thought if workers had more leisure time, they would become potential customers for his automobiles. By doing that he created goods that many people could afford to buy, the more people brought, the more he could make and the more money he could have.

New Industries such as oil and steel were becoming more and more popular as more cars were being made and sold. the reason being is because to have a car you have to have steel to form it, and oil is in side the car to help it run, without oil you can't operate a car. So with always needing those two things it made those industries become big and successful.

Summary:

Citation of Sources/pictures:

On this day in 1913, Henry Ford installs the first moving assembly line for the mass production of an entire automobile. ... Ford's Model T, introduced in 1908, was simple, sturdy and relatively inexpensive–but not inexpensive enough for Ford, who was determined to build “motor car[s] for the great multitude. So he opened up new doors to a brand new industry that people were trying to create for a long time, and ever since then things have just gotten better.
