By: Christopher Rowley

What is a congenital limb deformity?

Do extra limbs work properly?

What causes congenital limb deformities?

What effects can these deformities have?

In order for a limb to work properly it has to be "complete" limb.

The cause of congenital limb deformities is often unknown.

While extra limbs aren't usually life-threatening or fatal these deformities can lead to physical and even psychological issues.

A congenital limb deformity is a birth defect in which a fetus' limbs or extremities do not form properly while in the uterus.
