Jake and Lily

Jake and Lily are twins that are growing apart, Jake wants his own identity and friends , and Lily wants things to stay the same. They wrote this book when they turned 11 and how jake ¨ditched¨ Lily. In the story you see both sides (Jake's and Lily's). Lily has a hard time with Jake leaving her.

I would recommend this book because its important to know that you won't always have your brother or sister with you, in the future you'll have your own house, and a different life. You should also read it because its interesting to read about each of their stories.

Jerry Spinelli is born on February 1st 1941 , he is now 73 years old. Jerry was born in Norristown, Pennsylvania. Jerry is an American writer of childrens novels. At first Jerry wanted to be a cowboy, then he wanted to become a baseball player, However in 11th grade he wrote a poem about a highschool football game , on that day he traded a baseball bat for a pencil and became a writer.

Jake and Lily are twins, Jake is the calm one and Lily has a temper. They are also the narrators. If one of them gets hurt the other one feels it. Jake collects stones and lily is obsessed with trains. Each year on their birthday ,they sleep walk to a train station at night. Jake has short brown hair , he is a tall and has brown eyes, Lily has long brown hair, she is skinny and tall and has brown hair.

The theme of this story is that even if you have a twin , doesnt mean that you have to stay with him(her) all the time , he(she) still has a life to live. Just because you dont always hang out with him(her) , doesnt mean he(she) doesnt like you.

the climax is when Lily tries to get a new life. She always wants to be with her twin brother all the time, but he doesnt always want to be with her , because he has some friends that he wants to hang out with too.

the setting takes place in Jake and Lily's house, the hide out( a tree shaped like an umbrella), and poppy's house (their granpa). However the twins are mostly in their house. This story takes place in summer, as you can see on the cover book!

Other Characters

The other characters in the book are the parents , the grandpa(poppy), Bump , Burke, Nacho, Sydney, Devon and Ernie. Bump is a bully , jake was friends with him until he broke Ernie's clubhouse. Burke,Nacho and Ernie are all Jake's friends. Sydney and her brother Devon are good friends with Lily.
