These are some of the things that people think of when they hear the word "Robot"
Those were actually much more futuristic, therefore most likely more expensive then the robots that are being produced for consumption in the general public.
These are some more practical examples of robots.
- Vacuum Robots
- Vending Machines
- Hobby robots
- Surgery Robots
This is a Vacuum Robot that was developed by a company called Roomba. Its purpose is to clean the house when people either don't have the time or simply because this is more convenient.
This is probably one of the most well known robots. This is a vending machine. Its purpose is to make the "vender" money by serving drinks or snacks to someone that is going to pay more money then the company payed. Many companies develop vending machines (too many to list) and they are most commonly used in school or recreational facilities where people don't neccesarily mind paying more for a soda or water.
This is a medical robot. It is used to preform surgery on patients more accurately that the doctor can. There are robots that are controlled fully by computers, as well as ones that the doctor puts his hands in and manually controls while preforming surgery. There are also many companies that make this type of robot, most of the companies focusing ONLY on medical robots since they need to be complex enough to not make any mistakes.
What is a robot?
A Robot is something that helps us do tasks that humans cannot do themselves, or just tasks that would be easier and/or safer for the robot to do.
