Mrs. McCravy is looking to build a new house. In the house she wants to put stamped tin on the ceiling but it is very expensive. She decided to only put tin on part of the ceiling and put wood on the rest. If the dimensions of the ceiling are 10x8 and the stamped tin only covers 5x6 sq ft how much of the ceiling will need to be covered in wood?
•Problem 1: My mother Michelle is remodeling her new kitchen. She is replacing the countertop on the island in the kitchen. The dimensions of the island are 6x6. However, she has to insert a stove top that is 4x4 sq units. She is worried that she will not have enough counter space leftover. How much counter space will she have?
•What if she decided to increase the size of the counter to 6x8 sq units and the stove top was still 4x4 units sq. How much counter space would she have then?
