Summary

Hawkes Harbor is very confusing, flashbacks are constant and the flashbacks aren't in chronological order.

Jamie Sommers is a man who has had trouble his whole life. He was orphaned at an early age, having only one friend, Kell Quinn, for most of his life. Before being sent to an insane asylum, Jamie spent almost every day of his life out at sea with Kell where they smuggled and stole merchandise to gain money. Jamie and Kell eventually split, where Jamie was left to find his own life. After meeting a man by the name of Grenville Hawkes, Jamies life turned for the worst. He was sent to a tough state institution, then later transferred to a hospital for mentally ill people called Terrace View, where Dr. McDevitt tried to get Jamie to talk about his past years. Jamie kept quiet for a long time, until he finally started to talk. Here, Dr. McDevitt discovered something that he never expected to hear.,

Andaman Sea

-Jamie and Kell set to Bangkok after stealing artifacts, pearls, jades, and rubies, that would have set them both up for life.

- Pirates raded their ship, stealing all of the precious artifacts and jewels. Jamie tried to hide a ruby by placing it in his mouth.

- Jamie accidently spit out his ruby. He dove into the sea to retrieve it, and got attacked by a shark.

-After surviving the shark attack, he returned the ruby to the pirates. He had cheated death twice that day.

North Atlantic

Terrace View

-Kell and Jamie's last voyage together

-smuggling guns over the Atlantic

-Nobody on the crew knew of Jamie and Kell's plans except for the captain, Gregory, who was a long time friend of Kell's

-One of the crew members, Steve Malloy, discovered the guns

- In order to keep Steve quiet, Jamie stabbed him and threw him into the sea. The captain said Steve was lost at sea during a bad storm.

-hospital for mentally ill people

-Jamie was transferred after being attacked at his state institution

-Dr. McDevitt and Louisa Kahne were the only people Jamie would talk to

-He spent days on quiet stupors, not saying a word to anybody. Other days he would tell stories of his past, both good and bad.
