There are three (3) minutes for passing between each period.
Students must report to class before the late bell.
Students arriving to class after the late bell will be marked late.
Teachers will keep track of student lateness.

Explore and critically analyze eclectic pieces of literature.
Navigate Google Classroom frequently to stay up to date with all assignments and materials.

- Each member of the middle school math team has multiple years of experience teaching this unique age;
- The math team works cooperatively, as we utilize the same pacing calendar; write, administer, and analyze common assessments; and, share common pedagogical strategies in our PLCs;
- The Math 7 curriculum is designed to meet the needs of the NYS Math 7 test as well as prepare students for Algebra I in 8th grade;
- "Algebra for All" in 8th grade means all 8th graders are accelerated math students who will take a June Algebra I Regents; students who pass both the class and Regents move to Geometry as 9th graders;
- AIS is provided to students who need a bit more time in a structured, consistent basis regardless of teacher;
- After school homework help and targeted test practice are offered multiple times per week for students

- Homework is given frequently, late homework does not receive credit unless the student is absent

Honor Roll Requirements
Students must meet all the criteria for enrollment in honors in the seventh grade. The criteria is as follows:
- CoGat qualitative and numeric achievement
- BAS Benchmark Assessment in ELA
- A final grade of at least 90 in a content area
- A score of 3 or greater on the NYS assessment in 5th grade
- Successful score on the Spanish proficiency exam

In addiction, to all of our support we have infused an extra 96 minute of academic support in our ELA and Math classes for students who scored levels 1 and 2 in their state assessments.

Eligibility Requirement
- Students in grades 7 and 8 must have a cumulative GPA of 90 or above over three marking periods to receive an application to become a member of NJHS
- Applications require students to elaborate on how they exemplify the key components of NJHS (including a minimum of ten (10) hours of community service)
- Applications will be reviewed by a faculty council
- Selected candidates will be notified by the end of May

- The Modified Athletic Program level of competition consists of athletic opportunities for students in 7th and 8th grades.
- Modified provides a bridge between recreational activities and the structure of an Interscholastic Athletic Program, which is governed by the rules & regulations of New York State Public High School Athletic Association and Section 1.
