The 3.6 Degree F Goal

GHG

Scientists have been arguing that its time to stop the goal of limiting global warming to 3.6 degrees F.

GHG will decrease over decades, OHC will continue to increase far after there are no GHG left for at least 1000 years.

Summary:

Ocean heat content will continue to increase constantly even when there are no GHG left. Also, the 3.6 degree F goal of limiting global warming to that temperature is being shut down. Ocean heat warming is making a lot of bizarre things happen like thunderstorms here in Homer. We aren't even supposed get thunderstorms here because our waters are way too warm but global warming is heating up our oceans so much that drastic changes are happening, for example, scientists believe parts of Florida will get covered up in water because of the melting icebergs.

The years 1960-2000

In 2000 OHC ranged from 0-0.3 degrees. In 1960 it was -0.25. OHC has been rising since 1960.

Ocean Physics Facts

Global warming is heating up the ocean,

Its taking shorter time to heat up every year. By looking at graphs we can see the tempetures rising over the years.

What is ocean heat content?

It's ocean heat in between layers of the ocean due to global warming.
