THE BASICS

The Basics

Across our region one in six adults and one in four children lack access to enough safe, nutritious and socially acceptable food for a healthy and productive life.

Twenty-seven percent of Leon County residents live at or below the ASPE Federal Poverty Guidelines for 2020. One-third of the people facing hunger in our community are children.

THE CHALLENGE

Overcoming shortages among local food charities by increasing awareness and encouraging donations of money and food.

As school-based food programs conclude with the end of the school year, local food charities are faced with an increased demand for food. Meanwhile, donations begin to decline.
