The Korean War : 1950-1953

The Korean war was a conflict between North Korea, supported by the Soviet Union , and South Korea, supported by the United States and its allies. The war began with the invasion of South Korea by North Korean forces, and it quickly became a brutal and bloody conflict, with heavy casualties. The United States played a key role in the war, sending troops and providing air and naval support, while China intervied on the side of North Korea. China feared that the UN forces would invade China so what they did was send troops to aid North Korea. With that China and the North Koreans pushed the UN forces back. And by 1953 the conflcit ended in a stalemate because everything in the two countires remianed largely as they were before the war, except the millions of causualties.

After intense negotiations, the Soviet Union agreed to remove its missiles from Cuba in exchange for a U.S promise to not invade cuba and to remove U.S missilies from Turkey.
