Biography
Beginning his career in 1988, Nigel Parry was stationed in London and was trying to get noticed as a photographer. But it was not until his move to New York in 1994 that Parry started doing more big budget work. Since then Parry has taken pictures of some of the most influential people of the past two decades.
Some of his awards include: The European Magazine Award, The American Society of Magazine Editors Portrait Award, Hasselblad Master Photographer, Graphis, Photo District News, and Art Director’s Club.
Now he is still doing work for both his personal publications and commercial advertising. He is represented by Creative Photographers Inc.

My Opinion
Nigel Parry is one of the most influential portrait photographs of the twenty-first century. He has worked with dozens of entertainers, athletes, visual artists, businessmen, and politicians. Whether it is a powerful black and white up close shot of a billionaire tycoon, or an illustrious, prop-heavy shot of an entertainer, Nigel Parry perfectly portrays his subject every time. Because of his spot on photographs, he has created some of the most influential images of our time. Some cultural icons cannot be thought of without their portrait done by Parry.
Photography does not come naturally to me, so I am impressed by nearly everyone who is good with a camera. But Nigel Parry's photography is especially impressing to me. I like how he can take a picture of something as untelling as a third of someones face, and make it interesting. He also does prop work with backgrounds and models, but his most prominent work is with the one-on-one portrait. He can take a picture of someone who I've seen a million times, but the portrait done by Parry is the one that sticks with me. That is why find Nigel Parry so impressive.
