Point of interest: A major point of interest in Argentina is the Iguazu Falls.

Soccer: The national team in Argentina,

the Albicelestes has appeared in four

World Cup finals.

Media: The media in Argentina has the

most highly advanced filming in all of

Latin America.

Government

President: President Cristina Kirchner held the office since December 10, 2007.

Type of Government: The government of Argentina, functioning within the framework of a federal system, is a presidential federal republic.

Structure: The President of Argentina is both head of state and head of government.

Differences: Instead of being republic and

democratic, Argentina is just a republic.

Economy

What do they do: The three current major economic

activities are using the land(agriculture, forestry and

fishing), manufacturing and tourism.

Currency: The currency in Argentina, like

others, is the peso. The peso rate has

recently raised to 25 cents=1 peso.

Challenges: Argentina’s economy is at a crossroads with high inflation and an overvalued currency.

Tourism: The Tourism in Argentina is divided in six regions: Buenos Aires (consisting of Buenos Aires City and Buenos Aires Province), Córdoba, Cuyo, The North, Litoral and Patagonia.

Argentina has a birth rate

of 16.32 and a death rate of 7.54.

Pampas: Plains west and south of Buenos Aires

First people to settle: The First people to settle were

the Europeans who settled in the 16th century.

Language they speak: There are over 40 languages spoken, but the main language is Spanish.

Holidays: Argentina celebrates New Year's, Christmas and all the other major holidays, but it also celebrates deaths of evil people in the country and Flag Creation day.

Emigration: People rarely emigrate to Argentina, but people commonly go to Europe, and South America during crisis and dictatorships.
