Equivalent Ratio
An equivalent ratio is similar to an equivalent fraction.
It represents the same relationship, but with different numbers.
Important Definitions
For example,
3:4
is the same as
6:8
because I multiplied both numbers in the ratio by 2.
Ratio - A comparison of two numbers OR of two measurements with the same units.
Ex. In a classroom with 30 students, there are 12 girls and 18 boys. As a ratio, this information would be presented as:
12:18
