Walmart's Key Stakeholders

Ranking Order

What are the main reasons why certain stakeholders are more important than others for this organization?

  • Customers are the most important stakeholders because without customers there’s no need for employees, investors, suppliers, regulators, or any other stakeholders.

Customers

  • Walmart also conduct customer satisfaction surveys on a regular basis.

Shareholders

Is this rank order of stakeholders in the organization's best interest or should specific other stakeholders be given higher priority?

  • Yes, because the top stakeholders are the associates and the customers. without these two the business wouldn't thrive.

What societal groups are not mentioned as stakeholders by the organization?

  • The government and the community.

Does this lack of reference to these unmentioned groups make sense?

  • No it doesn't make sense because businesses pay taxes, but they are also informally expected by residents to operate ethically and with environmental responsibility. Communities also like to see businesses get involved in events and local charitable giving.
