In Conclusion, the beach has played an important role in Australian culture and history, but has been hard to define because of issues over territory and ownership. However we choose to think of 'the beach' , it should remain a public place for everyone to enjoy and multiculturalism should be embraced and not guarded against.
Although Australia has built its identity around its laid back beach culture, the beach can often be a complex setting because of its history with territorial disputes.
