The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
The theme of the Hunger Games is that the more money you have the more power you have. Which is why Panem ( the capital) has all of the power because of its wealth. And since Panem is so wealthy they are able to use their money to their advantage which in this book is not used in a good way. A result of this much power is Hunger Games.
The setting of the Hunger Games is in a futuristic North America
The hunger games is a book about survival in a dystopian society. This book was in set in a futuristic North America which had one capital named Panem and originally thirteen districts . However, now there only twelve districts and every year the capital holds an annual Hunger Games which was put in place to remind the other twelve districts that if you choose not to cooperate with the capital that they will destroyed you just like they destroyed District 13.
The Hunger Games was put in place after the "Dark Days".The "Dark Days" was when the thirteen districts went against the capital. The twelve districts were defeated however the thirteenth district was obliterated. So after that the Capital put in place the Hunger Games to remind the other districts of the "Dark Days" and that if it were to every to happen again that you will be just like District 13.
