"Not all who wander are lost" is my propaganda piece that I made. I wanted to create this you can't see the face of the dancer and she is just walking through life and I wanted to make a point to say that people that go a different course of path are always lost but they are just different from the everyday society.

17th Century

Bethulia which was a city that was taken over by Holofernes; was saved by Judith, a Hebrew widow who entered Holofernes's camp and took him over. Judith began to behead Holofernes while he was drunk. Even though the painting illustrates a classic scene from the Bible, Gentileschi drew herself as Judith and her mentor Agostino Tassi, who was put on trial in the court for her rape, as Holofernes. In ca. 1625 Judith and Holofernes was Acquired by Giacomo Bosio, probably from the artist herself.

The Night Watch was created in 1642 and is one of the most iconic paintings of the 17th century. This painting's title had been originally called The Company of Frans Banning Cocq and Willem van Ruytenburch but is now Night Watch. This painting has been attacked three times. Rembrandt's Night watch was created to show the milita group defending Amsterdam from other countries and protecting themselves In the 17th century power was an important factor toward other countries as the country with the highest power would be feared.

Le Brun was Louis xiv’s court painter. Louis xiv commissioned Le Brun to Paint a series of four “Grand Manner” paintings. This painting is one of them. Louis used this panting as a form of spin control, trying to show the grandeur of his reign. Le Brun painted Louis xiv as a new Alexander the great. It was painted to make the people see Louis xiv as a great and grand ruler.

17th Century

'Two Faced' is the propaganda piece i created. I tired to do a more humorous style. I stuck with the vintage sun beam background to keep the feel of a retro propaganda piece. In this piece i wanted to persuade people not to be two faced, that we need trust in each other.I painted the face of the man to make him look like he had two different faces, or sides, one nasty and grotesque the other clean and content.

Self Portrait

"Homestucks Drink Faygo" is my propaganda piece. I wanted to incorporate my favorite fandom in to this project. This piece can have two meanings, depending on the the viewer. If a person is in said fandom, it could persuade them to drink the soda. If they're outside the fandom, it could lead one to believe that people who like Homestuck drink the drink.

Judith Leyster

1630

Oil on canvas

29 3/8 in. x 25 5/8 in.

Counrty of Origin: Netherlands

This painting was made before Ms. Leyster's admission to Haarlem's master painter guild in 1633. She was one of only two women to gain admittance to said guild. It is possible she used this piece in her entrance portfolio.

The propaganda of this painting is showing how confident Ms. Leyster is with her skill in the loose brushwork. Her lace collar/ neck frill, the lace on the cuffs of her dress, and the different colors of her dress (along with the gold buttons) show her wealth and success as a painter.
