All the class to say...

Monday: Another way Readers grow significant ideas about characters to notice repeated details- traits, features and objects.

Tuesday:Readers show insightful ideas about characters by using exact, presis, and true words.

Wednesday:Readers show characters are complicated by looking for text evidence that shows this complexity.

Thursday:Writing about characters is very important. Creating ideas helps with the understanding of a book.

Friday: Review

What I like:

In reading workshop can we read in partners?

Why sometimes we have short time for reading?

Why do we read for only 45 min?

Can we have more Independent Reading time?

I tried to break my addiction to reading. Worst 2 min of my life .

Grow ideas about a character

Summary

  • Use patterns in the character actions to form ideas
  • How do the character's new actions change those ideas?
  • Why might the character act like this?
  • Pay attention to character desires and how they are achieved
  • Notice repeated details-traits, features and objects.
  • Characters are complicated- context, relationships,outside/inside.

What are we learning in reading? We are learning about characters. Getting to know them better, and to understand the personality of a character is complicated. And how the character changes over time.

What do you like or not like about reading? Reading independently, and also like it because I like reading very much. And I don't like when it ends.

Other: You should like reading because it is wonderful and you travel to different places.
